Books on the Great War

The Great War initially spawned a mass of books, mostly from participants - from generals and politicians, trying to exculpate themselves, down to simple privates, sharing their experience. When the World grew dark again in the thirties, with the rise of fascism, communism and  aggressive japanese militarism, and it seemed more or less clear that a new war was approaching, the Great War started to disappear from view.

The interest in this conflict has since waxed and waned over the years. Even if not all are as ignorant as the University Student who said that "as this conflict was called World War Two, I guess there must have been a World War One", this momentous conflict has since the 30-ies been in the shade of WW2 in the public mind.

Still, there is no lack of fine and readable books on the Great War in print! Here I will list some of these, for those of you that I know want to find out more! And you can easily get them from the same place that I do: Amazon.
