On this page you will be able to follow, step by step, one of my more ambitious modelling projects: the scratch building of a 1/72 scale replica of the Fiat 2000, the first Italian tank. This page will be updated and expanded whenever I make any progress with this, which can take some time, and and in the worst of cases the whole thing will perhaps simply just fizzle out - and I will feel a bit silly. (And progress will be slow, especially now, with summer coming up.) But then
again, when of the purposes with this page is to give me a further incentive to push on, at least if I want to escape the ignomy of semi-public
failure... Perhaps this page will encourage others to tackle strange modelling
subjects. One of the benefits of Braille Scale AFV modelling is that scratch building lies within most modellers range of
skill, and I hope to prove it here ;-)
I think it goes without saying, that in doing this, I am open to comments, hints and tips from anyone. I am quite convinced that there out there are plenty of people more in the know than I am. (Thanks already to Pietro Podavini, D. Przezdziecki, Henry Klom and ESPECIALLY to Hans von Oerle, who has all given me kind assistance.) I have chosen the Fiat 2000 as the subject of my project, as it is a vehicle that is not very well known among modellers - you could call the very opposite of the Tiger IE. I call it ambitious because I have no plans, and I know of none, so I will really have to start from zero, by drawing my one ones, using photos; all other info must be pieced together from a number of different sources etc. As I see it, the project will have to go through the following steps, and when they become clickable, you know that I have reached that particular stage!: 1.
